As the Afghanistan crisis continues to spiral, the Biden administration continues to take a lot of heat. Many accuse the President of being critically weak in the eyes of the world.

Former CIA director Mike Pompeo is especially furious.

Pompeo, who was also secretary of state during the Trump administration, places the blame squarely on Joe Biden and his staff. And he isn’t afraid to make his position clear.

As he told Fox News anchor Chris Wallace over the weekend, “the Biden administration has just failed in its execution of its own plan.”

He also blamed the current Commander-in-Chief for a host of other issues, including Iranian rockets hitting Israel, “handing” a pipeline back to Russia, and the ongoing China situation.

But he also wanted to emphasize the different between the two administrations (Biden vs. Trump):

Pompeo doesn’t hold back in his criticism of Biden and his policies and actions.

But he also took time to respond specifically to Biden trying to place some blame on Trump for the Afghanistan crisis. This really annoyed him, as seen in that video.

Here’s a snippet of his fiery reply:

If the risks weren’t so serious, Chris, it would be pathetic. I wouldn’t have let my 10-year old son get away from this kind of pathetic blame-shifting.

He should be less focused on trying to blame this on someone else than to solving the problem of making sure that we protect and defend American security.

The former CIA boss added that “this did not happen on our watch.”

During the Trump administration, Pompeo says the Taliban “didn’t advance on capitals all across Afghanistan.” Only now is that happening and he says Biden is now “pointing backwards.”

This is in stark contrast to the Trump years, Pompeo claims.

On top of that, he condemns Biden for “utterly failing to protect the American people.” And right now, that’s the primary criticism that’s coming at the White House from all angles.

As Pompeo stated:

We secured America from the risk from Iran. We inherited a horrible deal in Syria where ISIS controlled real estate the size of Great Britain. We crushed them.

Every president confronts challenges. This president confronted a challenge in Afghanistan. He has utterly failed to protect the American people from this challenge.

The President is expected to address the nation this afternoon concerning Afghanistan, and it’ll be interesting to see how he approaches it.

But based on what we’re hearing from veterans and experts like Pompeo, it might not be a good idea to attempt to blame Trump again.

At this point, Biden should probably try focusing on resolving the situation, and presenting a strong front.

However, many of his critics say he just can’t be as strong as Trump on this problem, and they miss the former President’s hard-nosed stance on such issues.
